ADMISSIONS
Admission to JAIS is open to students of all nationalities and backgrounds.
• Admisson is contingent upon determination by school officials that:
› The student will be able to meet JAIS's academic and behavioral standards.
› The school will be able to meet any special needs of the student.
• Students applying for admission shall be considered on an individual basis.
• Admissions will be finalized after an interview with the student and family.
AGE REQUIRMENT
Students applying for admission to Pre-Kindergarten 6th grade, will be placed in the grade level that is age appropriate according to their date of birth.
• The pre-Kindergarten program is designed for three and four year olds.
Students enrolling in the pre-Kindergarten program must be three (3) years of age
on or before September 1 of the year of admission.
• Students enrolling in the Kindergarten program must be five (5) years of age on
or before September 1 of the year of admission.
SPECIAL NEEDS
JAIS has limited services for students with Special Needs. Applicants with Special
Needs will be reviewed to determine the appropriateness of admission based on their
ability to succeed in the standard curriculum in a normal classroom setting. Parents
are required to provide all relevant information at the initial contact with the school.
• Overall academic achievement must be within two years of grade placement.
• Capacity to perform should be within the normal range as measured by
instruments acceptable to JAIS.
FINANCIAL ASSITANCE
If parents request financial assistance, they will be given a Financial Assistance
Application to complete.
ADMISSION APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Applicants should complete the application forms and return them with:
• a copy of the applicant's passport
• report cards or transcripts for the previous 2 academic years
• copy of immunization record
• payment of the registration fee in cash, or by check payable to AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

2. When the above requirements have been completed, the following will be arranged:
• a placement test for the applicant
• an interview for the applicant and parents with a Principal
These will help to determine the student's placement in the JAIS curriculum.
No space can be held without the deposit and the admittance process cannot proceed.
