Every morning we start off by doing our warm up work and then gathering on the carpet for Calendar Time.
Every day a different student leads us in reading our weekly poem.
We illustrate our own copy
and at the end of the year
we gather all the poems and make a book of poetry!
Library Time is always a choice in the 1-2 classroom. After snack and lunch everyone finds
a  book to read! 
That’s why we are such great readers!!!
We have spelling tests every week in the 1-2 classroom !  We check to make sure our letters are written properly and our work looks nice!
Free choice is a fun part of our classroom.
We have lots of games and activities to choose from.
Math is a hit with everyone!  We have different math baskets
with games or activities inside them to help us learn all our math concepts!
In theme we do a lot projects and experiments.
This trimester we researched bats using the computer and then gave speeches in front of our parents!
We also had our parents come in and go to different centers we ran where we taught them all we had learned.
We also like to tie our learning into our special areas…like art!!!

Every month we write a different kind of poem. 
We then take these poems and make them into a calendar for Father’s Day at the end of the school year!
We also enjoy celebrating any and all holidays! 
This trimester we dressed up for Halloween!  Watch out for these dangerous witches!
