Welcome to the Jerusalem American International School (JAIS).
This website has been created to give you important information about the educational programs available at JAIS.

JAIS currently serves students from preschool (age 3) through grade 6 (age 12).
In August of 2010 JAIS will expand to include students in grades 7 and 8. 
JAIS intends to expand into high school the following year. JAIS is a branch of the Walworth Barbour American International School in Israel (located in Even Yehuda – www.wbais.org.)  Both schools are accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.

JAIS is known for its warm, safe, nurturing, family environment.  JAIS has high academic standards and we gently encourage and challenge students to reach their full academic potential.  As we believe that the critical components of a student’s development include social, emotional, academic, and non-academic pursuits, we offer extensive programs in addition to our academics in order to nurture our students in areas such as: art, music, computer technology, conflict mediation, and physical education.  Our entire staff is dedicated to maintaining a school environment that enables our students to continue to flourish and to grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially.

Our students consistently score in the top percentiles on standardized testing (Measures of Academic Progress – MAP) when compared with norm groups from the USA.

In addition to standard programs, JAIS offers services to students who are English Language Learners, with a specialized program designed to accelerate English Language Acquisition. 

JAIS accepts students with mild to moderate learning disabilities on a case by case basis.  If your child has special educational needs, please contact us about your specific case.
