PTA


At JAIS the Parent Teacher Association ('PTA') is committed to building a community amongst the families and teachers and to enhancing the quality of our children's education.  It is a very active organization and all JAIS parents are very welcome to join.

The PTA tries to build school and family unity both by celebrating and sharing the diversity of our international student body with one another.  We aim to host fun and exciting educational experiences.  For example, at the PTA's Winter party, parents volunteer to host activities surrounding Eid el-Adha, Chanukah and Christmas.  A PTA sponsored event might focus on an educational program that the whole school can experience and enjoy together, like 'Dr Molecule' who performed an entertaining science show recently for JAIS.  Additionally, the families and teachers have had outings at the Ein Yael open air museum which is on the site of an old Roman villa.

The PTA also raises funds to improve the quality of student  life and learning at the school in ways that are fun and enjoyable.  Examples of PTA fundraisers include; our annual Halloween party, Spring fair, yard sale and Friday pizza lunches.  Recently the PTA has used their proceeds to purchase color printers for each classroom as well as a mobile oven for all the classes to use.
