Building Bridges across Jerusalem

At JAIS our community is the  pulse that fuels our school body. Our strategic plan is to build bridges across Jerusalem is embedded in all our plans, actions and decisions.

We are privileged to be positioned as a neutral, respectful and safe space. This enables us to build bridges between the diverse local communities in Jerusalem and to  expand these to include our vibrant international nexus.  This is a unique position that we take full advantage of in our implicit curriculum and values we impart as well as more explicit initiatives such as Jerusalem studies, our local languages program and our connections with other schools and organizations in Jerusalem.

Recently, with the help of Ms Rachel our Music/Art teacher, the Jerusalem Orchestra East West came to JAIS to share their music with the students. This group is a multicultural orchestra comprising of musicians from three religions, from all over the country and from all of Israel's diverse groups. Students participated in a workshop about conducting and even got to practice how to control an orchestra.
