Lara has a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (K-6) which she received from the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She went on to further her studies by gaining a TESOL qualification (Teaching English as a Second Language) from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia where she taught English as a Second Language in a Community College. Lara began her teaching journey in learning support, where she spent 5 years teaching and aiding children in a supportive environment. She has taught a variety of grades throughout primary school and is currently in her 17th year of teaching. Lara joined JAIS in 2020.
